the 9700 is more expensive because its also compatible with the intels. the 9500 is am2 only i believe.

9700 is bigger...

Bigger, Quieter fan, more surface area for heat dissipation.

Go for the 9700, it'll keep it cooler while keeping your computer quieter.

I suggest a Scythe Ninja or Infinity instead of either of those, they're much cheaper and perform better as well.
