alight, well i went ahead a put out a bid on it. hopefully the chip will over clock really well. thanks for the information.

well i lost the bid to that one, so i had to go with the next best thing a 3.0 northwood p4. hopefully that will be good enough to get a 3.6 oc?

yeah it was a crazy price, so i bought the next best thing and i paid 170 for it. hopefully that wasn't to much. just want my computer to last till vista comes out then i might switch over to AMD with pci-E.

actually I like to buy the lowest speed grades and get the highest buses...

ex: my 2.4C @ 1200Mhz FSB

if I was building a new system right now... I'd build it with a 630
the lowest speed grade of the newest/fastest stepping... and OC it up to 4++ Ghz

I'm about to be selling a 2.8C don't know what I'll ask for it, yet... maybe $150
it did 3.2Ghz easily at default voltage in my shuttle, but the fans would speed up too much (too loud) so I backed it down to 3.0Ghz where they always stay whisper quiet.

oh. yeah i not really building a new computer, my mom wants to use my old comp but i took parts from it to build my recent computer and now i need another processor so i thought just to upgrade a lil and see what i could overclock it with. 3.0ghz with HT and a 800mhz fsb seems better then my 2.4c non ht w/533mhz fsb i dont wanna spend to much money on buy another mother board and replacing parts. i'll save that for down the road. hopefully this chip i got will be good enough. should run alot faster then my crappy 2.4c

You've got a 2.4b (it might be a C1 stepping) but not a 2.4C.

2.4a = 400 FSB no HT
2.4b = 533 FSB no HT
2.4c = 800 FSB with HT

same goes for 2.8b & 2.8c
