which case to mod and how to start?

i'm planning on getting an A64 rig sometime in the next few months. i have a chieftec dragon case right now and all i've done to it is buy all the parts and put it together myself (first one i built from scratch) and throw in a 2 blue cold cathodes and a fan controller in the front. i have a volcano 11 in it on my athlon 2500, which i have realized is overkill. mostly in noise lol.

but anyway, i am thinking i should buy a case in the next few weeks and do some real mods on it and get it ready to go for when i get the stuff to throw in it, so then i won't have to wait a month to get my case ready after i have the money for all the parts already. or if i decide to wait on the parts till a later date, i can sell it to one of my friends and make some dollarz.

so anyway, what is a good case that will be a clean slate for modding, money doesn't matter that much, but cheaper is better, i'm still in high school :p and what are some mods that will make the case look a lot cooler, perform better, or any stuff like that. and please keep in mind that i can't draw cool window designs or any artistic stuff pretty much at all. i do have access to about any power tool i'll need and i can buy any supplies or stuff like that.

please throw some ideas at me. thanks

edit, i plan on having a full atx mobo, athlon 3500 939 proc, 2*512 sticks in dual channel mode and my geforce 6800gt will be moving over to the new case. and i want water cooling. if that stuff could influence what you would say. i don't really care if the water cooling is external or internal, like the exos or a pump that sits inside, either will work, just one that keeps good temps and looks clean and nice.

and the case i would like would be black with room to hide wires. i can find a case that i like and i've read lots of reviews so i know what to look for kinda. but could you all give me some pointers on extra precautions i need to take to make sure the wires will be hide-able.

The volcanos aren't quiet, I cut the speed control wires and had mine on full blast before I got my shuttle. When I would have it on my desk to work on it the desk would shake. (And that is with two monitors and another fulltower case. )

As far as cases the best case I've ever built as far as wire management was an xdreamer for a friend, ugly ass thing but, You couldn't see any wires. As far as looks see if you can get your hands on an coolermaster atcs110Picture

yeah it's pretty loud, it doesn't bother me, i will still have some fans in the back of my water cooled case or something just for the noise, i can not sleep in total silence. but this volcano forces me to turn my tv up from 5 to 10, i like the noise for sleeping, but i don't want it to drown out my tv lol.

i'm looking around right now, but does anyone know of anyplace that sells aluminum case fans? i think they're aluminum anyway, maybe they're steel. i've seen a cpu/heatsink fan that was chrome metal lookin, are there any like that, that are 80mm case fans? if there are any are they louder/quieter?

i wonder how this would look in a case. you think it would look stupid?

Yeah those chrome fans look good. Do you lan? At all? If not get the Lian Li PC75, its a full tower, so plenty of room to mod, fit internal water cooling and hide wires. Even if you do lan sometimes its not that bad. I have the mid tower version (65) and its awesome. It comes in black or silver. The color is just personal preference.

GL and happy modding! :)

I like the chrome fans.

Question? why ask what case to get and what to mod? Get some inspiration.. and know what you want and get it... otherwise go buy a pre-mod.

i was asking what mod, because i've never done any real mods, with dremel and stuff like that. i was wondering what are some easy mods for a beginner to do. like i said, i'm no artist, so i couldn't just draw a cool design on it like that glowing demon mod i saw that looks o so sweet.

blow holes to exhaust hot air(or intake cool air), windows, and stealthing of drive bays are usually pretty normal..and easy...search around on the forums or on google for how to's
