its in a bundle, but i just like the case..... i read the details of the bundle and it doesn't give info on the case.
 
Can you buy them seperately or are they the stock case that comes with those shitty bundles?
 
You might be able to buy one on eBay or something but generally you can't buy them without the parts inside from the company who makes them.
 
Ive read that some of those wont except a standard size mobo and PSU......Also Ive read that the Power cords etc have different than standard connectors on them...
 
Have one right next to me...not mine, working on it for someone else. It's an HP, and the one here uses an ASUS Socket A VIA chipset mainboard, pretty standard ATX stuff. It's actually the first Pavilion system I've been impressed with in a long time, mainly for being fairly standard, having an AGP upgrade option, and coming with a lot of features (Athlon XP 2800+, 512MB RAM, firewire, multi-flash card reader, DVD-ROM and CDRW) for not a lot of money.
 
That has to be the shittiest and uggliest case I have ever seen.
 
Yeah, be careful about it fitting a standard atx situation. most of hte bundled stuff is proprietary to save on production costs.
 
agreed sdk why one the world would you want that case...theres a better site called newegg that has computer things..might want to look at other ones not crappy hp cases? gl hf
 
You won't like it once you get one, unless you like to slowly break the shitty plastic bits off and toss them around the room for fun. The side pannel is almost impossible to get back on. They have terrible cooling and you can't fit anything thats not proprietary inside of it.

If memory serves me right, the only thing that is proprietary is the front LED and power switch connector but it's easy to figure out which wire goes where and rewire it yourself.
It holds a standard micro-ATX motherboard with standard mounting points. I'm not sure whether a standard power supply will fit or if it has to have a micro-power supply.

At any rate, I'd figure as we know it's an HP case that you can't just go out and buy one...and someone else mentioned it was probably proprietary, and I pointed out through my post that it wasn't. If that's not okay with you, well, I couldn't care less.

Dude, I was pointing out everyone wass aying they were proprietary and you said they werent. Thats why I asked if people could read, because you know they arent proprietary from previous experiance with the case, people kept on stating they were after you stated they werent proprietary. I was kinda sticking up for you in a way :confused:

Just cause he said it doesnt mean i believe it. Besides, what he said has littte to do with the case's ability to cool or get in and out of easily.

And 'looks mostly standard" doesn't necessarily mean mostyl standard. And when it comes to forums like, "mostly" standard is gonna get flagged.

And for a noob here you need to learn a little respect. Read the rules; this is not the place for profanity.

I have an old hp case from a long time ago if. It uses standard matx and a micro atx powersupply. It is old too, like a 600MHz celeron and 128MB ram, it also has a motherboard tray.. I doubt hp went from using standard to non standard.

Acutally proprietary sould increase production cost as it isnt a standard, unless I am wrong in thinking that. IIRC companies used to make non standard stufdf so you were forced to buy upgrades from them at insanely high prices.

I'm sorry, didn't seem that way from your reply, there just weren't enough words to indicate, so I thought you were saying I was off-topic and not answering his question. Took it the wrong way.
 
Hey!!!!!!!! thats the exact same hp case I had before I switched it with a antec 1000amg. It comes with a 90mm fan on the backside but I drilled a hole on the side for another 90mm fan b/c my 6800gt was running wayyyy to hot. It does fit a standard power supply....you just bend a small piece of metal thats in the way of one hole, the other holes fit. The case fits all micro-atx motherboards and ITS NOT PROPIENTARY IN ANY WAY or whatever you call it. Its actually really quiet and if you put a fan on the side its like an inch away from my 6800gt, which was really good for cooling. Mine is sitting in my closet, but I bet you don't want one cause I used snippers to cut the side instead of a drill.

having worked for an authorized HP service center for a number of years, I can tell you this case is the last thing you want. HP did ok in terms of physical appearance but that front plastic face plate will break if you look at it the wrong way (especially fragile is the door covering the floppy, card reader and front IO ports)

Also working inside that thing is a nightmare if you have larger hands.

Oh and airflow is horrible

but despite the rumors all connections ive ever seen in those cases are standard and they will fit an ATX board but you wont have much room left

There you go, that settles it once and for all :)

If you really love the looks of the case then I'd say go for it. You can always do some creative mods on it and that might be a lot of fun.
