Which case for new server?

The server will be a tower, requirements are -

- able to take at least 2 5in3 hotswap cages
- cheap
- extras like front esata will be nice
- good cooling for drives
- appearance does not matter, ease of access and build does

I searched on newegg and came up with these -

Any recommendations? I want to keep it under $100 unless its really special.
 
If you could find an old Stacker... they're pretty awesome.

It can fit 4 of those 5in3 bays, has wheels (Gets heavy when you stick 12+ drives in there)... and I got mine for $50 from Coolermaster's outlet store.. they don't seem to have any left but maybe you can check the used forums, ebay, craigslist etc.
 
True, depends on your setup... I would have gone with the Norco but had no where for a rackmount case, the stacker on wheels works well stuck in the garage next to the modem/router/workbench.

And I actually got Norco 5in3 bays for ~$70 each, so $140 + $50 for the case... ~$200 for that and I can add a couple more to get 20 hotswap bays if needed. And if you're creative you can fit more cases in the Stacker internally.
 
I would have gone with Norco but I just don't have space in my apt, and I'm also concerned about the noise level. It will have to go next to the router and tv in the living room.

I don't see myself going beyond 20tb (10 x 2tb) for next few years and by that time 3tb disks will be cheap, so 10 slots should be enough.

I did contemplate a 4220 when I was looking for a new home for my server, however instead I bought a Corsair 800D for my desktop and thus had an orphaned Antec 900. I also find it easier to cart a tower server to LANs then a rackmount one, but all my other gear lives in my rack.

You sure about that?:
Norco LWH: 25.5" x 7.0" x 16.9"
Zigmatek LWH: 20.30" x 8.10" x 19.30"

Yes you can stand the Norco on its side: Just move the "ears" or handles in front of the case and that's it.

Those 5in3 bays won't be that much quieter than any of the Norcos. In addition, a modified fan bracket does exists for many of the Norco cases.
