Ok so this new rig I'm building I figure needs to last 1 year and give me great performance in games such as WoW, EQ2, Doom 3, UT2006 (when it comes out)..

Should I go with the Gigabyte GeForce 6800 Ultra PCI-E for $519 @ zipzoomfly.com or should I go with an ASUS Extreme AX850XTPE/2DHTV Radeon X850XTPE PCI-E for $669 @ pcnation?

I think I'm going to buy an FX-55 with the ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe mb and 1 gig of pc3200 RAM..

For the money, which do you think will be the best, and do you think I will have any performance issues running the above mentioned games?

Well, you use SLI so a 6800 Ultra is the only choice. With 2x 6800 Ultra, that will blow others in the water.

wish I could go 2x but for now just 1.. This damn pc is going to cost me in the area of 4,300 dollars anyway.

That's why it is a good choice.. you can get 1 now and get a 2nd one later when you get money and prices get down.

i vote Gigabyte GeForce 6800 Ultra PCI-E for $519

better drivers.. more features.... better price.
plus future sli.

I would say a 6800GT then put the rest of the £ towards another GT when you have More money. If however you ONLY want 1 card get the X850 as it is generally faster than a single 6800U.

On another note the drivers are at least on par with each other so don’t take that into consideration
