At the moment I have a 5600 ultra 400/800 128mb 128bit bfg card and a 9600np 325/400 256mb 128bit rosewill card. Umm I know they are both slow but which one would give me better performance. The Rosewill card has no ramsinks but a Iceberg 1 on it and is oc'ed to 375/460 no problems. The bfg is bfg nice stock heatsink and fan with ramsinks.
 
eh it's a toss up. The radeon will probably win in shader-bound scenarios, the 5600 will win in pretty much everything else. It would really take a 9600pro to compete with the 5600 ultra. But in modern games, who knows. The 5600 is especially weak with dx9 shaders.
 
I had a BFG 5600Ultra, it wasn't all that bad. Last I remember it competed with the 9600Pro, the 9600XT was faster. I'd stick with the 5600Ultra.
 
Alright what about a 9600np with 400/460 specs I just got it there running 3dmark03 runs smooth.
 
The 5600Ultra was noted for being a terribly weak mid range card. The 5700Ultra, which had a core based on the 5900 cards, was much better. The 5600 is TERRIBLE at anything with any shading going on and is another example of how bad the FX cards were.

At the speeds you got your 9600 it is the better card.
 
Hmm both area almost the same,but i would go with the 9600NP thought the FX series was noted pretty crap, except for the FX5700 and 5900.
