Which brand for 4870?

Hey guys, I'm thinking of buying a 4870, and I'm wondering which brand to go with and why.

They're no consensus for a best brand. Shop by price, warranty and bundle. The next ten posts will probably list at least four different vendors. I assume you want the 1gb model?

If the price difference isn't too much then yeah I will get the 1GB, otherwise the 512 will be fine since there doesn't seem to be too much difference (~3-4 fps) in performance according to Anandtech's review

I guess I should be looking for the longest warranty then? Is Visiontek the only company that offers a lifetime warranty?

[edit] Seems newegg has the 1gb for $10 more than the visiontek so I guess I will be going 1GB =)

For ATI yes I think its just Visiontek for life. The 1GB will show its extra 512 at 1920x1200 and above, at 1680x1050 and lower the edge shrinks considerably. Let your display rez be your guide

This page has a list of all the HD 4870s. Click on the memory column header and all the 1GB
models will come to the top of the list. Looks like the stock clocked PowerColor and Asus are
the cheapest at Newegg right now.

All of the cards are the same GPU with different aftermarket coolers and looks. That's pretty much it. In terms of overclocking, you may be lucky or not. I would personally go for the brand that has a good reputation (which may vary) and provides a good warranty as well as a good price.

I ended up with the Sapphire 4870, I need an aftermarket cooler though, thing is loud with the fan speed at anythig over 30%
