I am purchasing a new processor, the Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 and need to find a good motherboard. I will be using my sound card and video card along with my crappy ram (for now until I buy more). Here is a quick rundown on what I would like....

I want it to support decent ram (DDR2) and 4+ GB worth.

Prefer it not to have onboard sound and/or video (if I could disable them completely in the bios or something so they are not using any power that would be good also)

As far as hard drives, I currently use sata 3.0 Gb/s and would like it to support 4 at the least and would like 6+ if possible. I have never done RAID (I have never read up on it so I have no idea what it is) so I am not sure if support for that is needed in the future or not...

For video I use pci-e x16 and don't use dual cards or plan on doing so, so all I need for video card is a single pci-e slot.

Price doesn't matter much.. I will spend $100-$200+

I just want a good fast overall board.. I don't over clock or anything, so that isn't a huge issue. I do everything on my pc, including a lot of media and gaming.

Thanks, that Asus looks really good....

Also, can you disable audio in the bios completely so that it does not get power?

well in windows if you just have your sound card set as the primary sound device that won't be an issue, but I'm sure in bios you could disable it completely but it probably wouldn't be necessary.
