Which APC UPS for home LAB ?

I've been looking at Eaton lately, their Intelligent Power Manger software looks pretty good.

According to their documentation it can be run entirely from vCenter/XenCenter without anything installed on the hosts themselves; a big no no for a XenServer dom0 apparently. The documentation also implied that it would play nice NUT so it should be able to shutdown other machines like FreeNAS if you have any.

Eaton just gave out some of their new low-end enterprise model the 5SC as review units to members on spiceworks so hopefully there will be some feed back on them soon.

For home lab the CyberPower UPS PFC models make great UPS's.

They are of decent price, nice features, user replaceable battery, and with the use of their PowerPanel Business Edition appliance which will allow you to automate the shutdown of your ESXi hosts in the event of a power outage.

I need something for 800 W

And time on battery minimum 1.5 min (for automaticly shutdown from app UPS virtual machines)

I would recommend buy an used not so old APC Smart UPS unit and replaced the batteries.

I did this myself and i love my UPS.
