I want a quality case but im not going to be doing any major modding to it, currently im looking at the Antec Super Lanboy and the Antec Performance One P160. Airflow looks to be nice in the lanboy , but from the photo's i've found i can't telll how it is in the Performance model (think the front fan intake is sorta sideways blocked by harddrive bays ?.

Basically whats appealing to me is that both cases have 2 120mm fan spots. Any of you guys know other good cases with 2x 120mm spots ?

I dont care for the blue LED's in the lanboy fan, anyone know if the LED's are easy to get to so i can kill'em ? My computer is in my bedroom so I dont really fancy the idea of it lighting up the whole place when its running.

Which case would you guys go for ? or any obvious flaws in either of these 2 models ?

Also are the fan's shipping with antec cases generally pretty silent?

The performanc model nets you more room for equipment and its still light from the aluminum, but the front intake is somewhat hampered by the new sideways drive cages which are rubber mounted to prevent HDD vibration.

Antec makes a Sonanta model with 120mm fan mounts. Its black and about the size of the Lan boy, a very popular and quiet case

Im more a fan of the performance series from Antecs. Huge ass cases that weigh a ton from streel construction, but man they hold alot and are very moddable and basically indestructable. I don't like the LAN Boys design at all, its just way to over the top. The 160 has those really gay side panel locks and chrome front im just not a big fan off, but thats more preference then anything else.

Besides that, ther'es really no flaws to speak of, Antec makes good shit. Just depends what you like better and how much room you need.

The fans from Antec are generally ok fans. Being 120mm sizes, you won't notice much difference

Super LANBOY has a front Blue LED fan. So you can just swap that out, and no blue glow.

P160 has 3 blue LED's that are powered by the PSU, so just don't connect it and no blue glow.

I would rather choose Antec Sonata or the Chenbro case. That P160 is ugly IMO in person. It has a cheap plastic feel to it, not the quality you would expect from antec.

My system is currently enclosed in an Antec Super Lanboy. I went through the same debate with myself over which Antec case to get, but finally decided upon the S-Lanboy. It's all aluminum (light as hell) and looks pretty good. I didn't care much for the blue LED's on the front intake fan, but meh, I don't mind it at all. Really good airflow throughout the case and it's easy to work with.

Sounds like you need the SLK3700BQE!
I really like it and Antec offers great. support if you need it.

The included Antec fan in mine seems quieter than the 120mm vantec stealth (rated @ 28db) I put in the front, but not everyone agrees w/ me :D
The power supply is the smart power, and it's rating is 350w but I can tell you it's running a ton of things in my rig with zero problems - unless you overclock to the max. Then again, the restart I get could very well be this p4c800e board which is infamous for doing that...

Anyway, they make great cases.

Mine doesn' thave that problem, but it does have this annoying issue of "forgetting" that is has a CMOS chips. I swear to god, if it gets to cold inside or if I unplug the unit completely for to long I get a CMOS CHECKSUM ERROR and I have to unplug it and try it again.

Changing the battery hasn't helped a bit either. Other then then, another wonderful board from ASUS.

[off topic]I get that too. :(
The restart/hang only happens on occasion and only when I overclock from 3.0c to 3.6. It isn't overly hot and the vga isn't either. It reboots and pulls windows normally so I'm pretty sure that either 1.) this true control 550w ;) or 2.) the droop mod I'm going to attempt  will end that little issue and we can go on to bigger and better #'s. [/off topic]

Antec r0x0r though no doubt.

Thanx alot for the feedback... i got the same worries about the lanboy beeing abit over the top design wise.

To icewind: In regards to the 160 i've only judged it from the photo's on antec's site and obviously thats with proffesional lighting and all so hard to judge if it has a cheap plastic look. but i'll take your word for it. I dont know a shop near me (copenhagen, denmark) that has it on display or i'd go look.

I will take a look at the Sonata again, it doesnt fit a front 120mm thou ? Paint job on it looks really nice thou.

I've got the 1080AMG, its sweet because I have a forklift.

But seriously, its not that heavy (at least not for me, but I'm strong :)). It has insane amounts of room, and comes with a beautiful power supply, and cool locks :).

I really like the Sonata. Built a comp for a friend with the case and it was real nice. The overall finish, sturdyness, looks, and layout was pretty good in my opinion.

I have this case too and love it. Very well built, good room and drive configuration (although I wish they had another hard drive rack built in below the lower front intake fan).

It's not too heavy though, even being steel, but it is very strong.
