Which 3850 is best?

hey guys I am helping a buddy do a gpu upgrade and have selected the hd 3850 256mb. There are several companies offering this card right now and all within $20 of each other, and most from I can see are only offering a 1 yr warranty. Since, they are not bundling with any sweet games to help sway the decision into any specific direction, which should I go?

Just get the 512MB version from Visiontek. It has a Lifetime warranty and the 512MB will future proof it for a few more years.
 
that card starts @ $200 and blows his budget completely out of the water. The larger 512mb wont help him either since he is gaming @ 1280x1024.
 
The Visiontek 256MB HD3850 is a good choice. It has a limited lifetime warranty which, as you mention, is the only difference between the many brand choices. It also happens to be the cheapest one available too. I got mine for $170.50 including tax and shipping from the Best Buy website.
 
Someone is selling a 3850 512 for 180 on the forum.
I bought one card of him he has two.
Check out the forums he has a saphire version,So far i like it very much.
 
Brandon thnx for the post, I already chose the type/model of card the HD 3850 256mb as outlined in my first post. I am looking for some help in choosing a particular company of which there are 7 to pick from, Visiontek, Sapphire, Asus, HIS, PowerColour, Diamond, GeCube. His budget is $200, including a psu. I picked an XClio 500W for that @ $49 so hes is shipped for about $230. He could spend less but wouldnt get nearly the performance or decent equipment I selected for the $.

Hey win32asmguy on the newegg site it says 1 yr limited warranty as it does for the rest of them. I also checked the visiontek site and dont see anything about warranty?

I think its 1 year with the retailer, Like you can swap it out where ever you you bought it from. And there on after you have to deal with visiontek them self and send it off to visiontek ?
 
newegg is blowing out their 8800 gts 320mb for 199 after mir. Do you guys think that would be a better deal? He has bumped his budget to $275 for the gpu and psu.

or powercolor, they also have a lifetime warranty (last I checked, which was on an X1950XTX).

edit: ahah, however, since your canadian (judging by the colour), your gonna have a bit of a time getting one. NCIX seems to be lazy to update their site and all my other sources don't keep updated info on anything other then mainstream parts.
 
I picked up the visiontek 3850 at BB for $100(w/giftcard) when they had that deal going for $140,great card.
