I'm currently sporting a 20.1" Dell 2005FPW that I've had for a few years now, but would like to upgrade to something similar that is around 24". I've purchased several monitors from Best Buy but none of them have the picture quality of my current monitor. I'm looking to spend around $300-400 and want something that can go over 1080p. I want more desktop real estate in Windows and want to run games higher than 1680x1050 (my current max) with my new GTX 275. The NEC IPS panel thread has me interested in that but the max resolution is kind of a bummer.

I'm open to suggestions!

any TN dell panel as TN is good enough for gaming (FPS) where fas frame rates are essential as TN's have lower input lags, but what do i know?i just got my first dell ultrasharp

Both the Dell U2410 and HP LP2475w(although obviously not a Dell) fit your bill, but are a tad outside your price range ($500-$600). I'm also sure that there will be a bunch of IPS announcements at CES in a couple months.

EDIT: The Dell U2410 is on sale right now for $529 http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Monitors/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-8277

EDIT: $499 if you go through the Small Business portal. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/category.aspx?c=us&category_id=6761&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd

If you get lucky getting a U2410 with no green/pink tint go buy one!
I bought the U2410. It looked very nice in the beginning but now I'm getting fed up with this tinting issue.
Or the green/pink issue Is getting worse with time, or I'm getting more sensitive with the colours accuracy.

I ordered the U2410. I looked into the tinting issues and supposedly all U2410's shipping as of Monday on 12/07/2009 were supposed to have the issue fixed. Ordered mine on Tuesday and got it on Friday. Everything seems to be working just fine. I'm enjoying the monitor so far.
