I want a 22" lcd monitor. I am looking to spend around $300 give or take a few dollars. I would like it to be hpcd compatible. Thanks in advance.

System specs:
- evega geforce 8800gts 640mb
- Intel core 2 duo e6600
- ASUS comando
- 2GB corsair xms2 dominator ddr2 800

Is the LG W2252TQ-TF a good all around monitor? I will mostly use it for gaming.

What made you choose the L227WTG-PF over the W2252TQ-TF?

I went to Best Buy last week and looked at them as well as the Westinghouse L2210NW that was on sale. The two LG's had more ghosting than the Westinghouse. Not the ghosting you see with fast motion but the kind of ghosting you used to get on analog TVs that had crappy reception.

There were ghost images about 1/16" to the right of the pointer and all white or light images. Do you notice that or was it just the crappy video feed they were using.

The Westinghouse looked best to me but didn't have as vibrant colors.

Crappy signal.

I purchased the L227WTG-PF last Friday and picture quality is right up there with my NEC 90GX2.

I've seen no ghosting with any games I've run.

Stay away from gateway monitors. On the one I have the picture is good, but the firmware is infuriating. The monitor is not good at figuring out which input is active and when it guesses the wrong one, it disables its menu button. I have to cycle the power until it gets it right. It's not very fast either, and has a long power-on delay.
On the plus side, it's not that expensive and has a good number of inputs.

The 226BW monitors are awesome in person. Don't get a 22" BenQ though,,,,I didn't like mine, however the 24" is pretty good!

I was torn between the LG227WTG and the HP W2207h. I went with the HP based on the adjustable stand, and the exterior. LG just looks way too chintzy to me. Personal preference there though.. Can't go wrong with either!

Both have very similar pictures, I absolutely LOVE the glossy display for a desktop. My only beef with the HP was my month old 8800GT not having an HDMI output, so I had to use it for 4 days on VGA until my DVI into HDMI adapter arrived from Monoprice.

EDIT: some people on this board have reported of noticeable banding on the LG when the contrast is adjusted too far away from ~70 or so, YMMV.
