Which 19" CRT?

Id go for ViewSonic P95F+B The best CRT on market now IMO

Negative.

The best 19" CRT would be the NEC FP912/Mitsubishi Dp930. They are the same monitor.

Mitsubishi 930sb!!! (black)

just got mine on thursday, very impressed with it. quality is crystal clear :)

How could 2 different companies make the same Monitor, and if it were the same how would it be better?

NEC is owned by Mitsubishi. Picture the difference between Sprite and Coke.

I said ViewSonic P95F+B Viewsonic

Yeah..I know you were talking about the Viewsonic.

I was talking about this company.

NEC/Mitsubishi makes the actual monitor, then they rebadge them and then both NEC and Mitsubishi sell them. They are vastly different from the P95F+B. They are diamondtron, produce better graphics/video, and are more reliable.

I bought a Samsung SyncMaster 997DF a few weeks ago and it is a very nice 19"
I am pleased with it.

I have the Viewsonic mantioned. I would not buy another- text is far too blury at 1600x1200, which is the resolution I bought it for (it can do 85hz). Instead I wind up running it at 1280x1024, and wish for an LCD.

I have a NEC FP912SB.. It's great. Can't recommend anything over it or the Mitsu 930.

Hi can I get a few more pics of that monitor

and read over this post tell me if you get the same effect. with the white haze. I have been told its normal, But dont know

http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=306509

also WS6 do you get the same as me

I have a haze with dark background with light objects on all 3 of my CRT's. I guess it's normal. I've got a 19" Samsung, 19" Viewsonic, and a 20" Sony.

Thanks alot ot looks very nice

NEC/Mitsubishi and Sony are the only two companies with a patent on the aperture grille technology.

They are the best for gaming. I have the Mitsubishi DP930SB and i love it. I wouldn't trade it for any other 19" monitor out there.

I had a mitsu 930SB for a week. The colors were wonderful (as to be expected from an aperture grill tube) but at 1600x1200 (my prefered resolution) the text was really not all that good at all. Disappointing enough to make me return it (and eat a 25% restocking fee to boot) and finally take the plunge and buy a 20" LCD (BenQ FP2091) which I'm currently in love with.

1600x1200 @ 85Hz is the only resolution i run on my DP930SB and the text seems fine to me.

Did you turn off Super Bright Mode when you were viewing text? Suber Bright Mode is only for gaming and watching movies. It makes text blurry.

So is the text really blurry, I need to finf the best monitor I cant afford to send it back and forth

i just used 1600x1200 (usually i use 1280x1024 for the 100hz) but i found the text to be perfect, wasnt blurry at all to me. used it for roughly an hour before i went to work to see if it was blurred, but nothing.

Yeah this was with superbrite off.

I was actually more or less of the opinion that I may have gotten a defective monitor as parts of the screen @1600x1200 looked good but basically the bottom half had a very slight blur effect on text. I didnt have the opportunity to play the exchange game (without incurring potential restocking charges) so I said screw it.

On the DP930SB are the 2 horizontal lines apeature grill noticable. The 2 lines that hold the others together

as noticeable as they are on any aperture grill monitor. Which is to say you see them if you consciously and closely look for them. But otherwise you forget about them/dont even notice them. They are a small price to pay for glorious trinitron color/brightness.

So this monitor is worth it

Yes the monitor is worth it!!!

The lines are so THIN you can barely see them at all. They only show up on light backgrounds.

Its nothing compared to the visual quality you get in games and movies.

I am also hereing alot of bad things about the 930, about blurred text and shifted images

ok.. that white stuff... i have that... i am serious.. it pisses me off... the right side of my screen next to the scroll bar is ligher colored and fades out... and i opened this picture

http://team-bau.net/vinny/test.JPG

and my monitor gets lighter inside the pink outlined stuff just like the person that originally posted that .....

it is an NEC MultiSync FE950+ bk

I have a 17: Lcd (Samsung 710T) which is the bets monitor on the market now and kills the 172X. and its not good enogh, So I want to get a goof Crt

ok can you guyz/galz recommend the second best NEC and Viewsonic(for cs ut2k4 nfs underground wc3) the top dawgs are just a tad out of my spending limit

Vinny, what video card are you using, what games, do you have Vsync enabled? I hate it when people claim 12ms LCD's are crap. Especially when a year ago people were claiming 25ms LCDs had almost no ghosting. Let us know what all you are seeing.

9600XT == too slow to be considered for LCD ghosting subjective measurement. I would at a minimum consider a 9800XT, or my card (see sig). I think slow framerates can make a little ghosting look a whole lot worse- and there is no real way to tell if that's what's happening in your case, aside from having you try out a much faster card.

If i get crt i'll prob go for 19" Samsung one with dyna flat.. but 17" Hyundai is tempting cos it doesnt cost much more than 19" crt (i think its one of cheapest 17" lcd) but spec seems to be pretty good..
I've seen two diff specs L70S, 450:1, 260cdm2, 16ms, Analog and 500:1, 300cdm2, 13ms, Analog. are there any major disadvantage of Analog?
