hi all.

Im thinking of getting my Dad a 17" LCD monitor for fathers day. At the moment he has a crappy IBM 15" monitor in his office.

I have about $450 US ... which do you recommend? I use a SyncMaster 173v. I love it but I don't want to get the same one.
 
Samsung 710N if you don't care about DVI or Samsung 710T if you do. The N runs about 440 shipped and the T runs about 490. Other than that they have the same specs.

Ebuyer.com has a better dead pixel policy on lcds and cheaper prices so you may want to consider going with them (I love newegg too, but 8 dead pixels... come on). Anyways, newegg doesn't even sell the 710T.
