Thanks

Do not get the Diamond Max Maxtors, get the Maxline. The DMs only have a 1yr or 3 yr warranty, the Maxs have 5 yrs.

Three year warrenty, and think about this:
Are you even going to have your drives in 3 years? For me, that is a resounding no!

Whats better ...

Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 300GB - internal - 3.5in - SATA 3Gb/s NC - ST3300622AS

or

Western Digital Caviar SE16

you can use this coupon

and this rebate

http://ak.buy.com/buy_assets/retail/pdfs/06Q1/0124-0210dk_30seagatesata.pdf

to get this drive

for 120 bucks.

The WD is higher-performing in OS loading, apps, games and such, but the Seagate with its 5 year warranty and higher STR is always pushed by DougLite as a good media storage drive. Depending on what you plan to do with it, either might be "better" for the situation.
