I'll believe it when I see it. Release dates that are more than a month out are generally wild guesses. Personally, I think it'll be more like Q3 or Q4 of 2009.FF13 should be coming out in December. both versus and regular.
Folklore is pretty good! Enchanted Arms isn't TOO bad. Just play it dubbed so the voice acting isn't so bad. I usually see it for $20 which I think is about right. Fallout 3 soon, but I think you have to wait till next year for anything unique.
They're on the 360.Seriously though...Lost Odyssey rocks but I'm sure the PS3 will be getting the latest Final Fantasy soon..
Folklore assuming your talking about: ya i guess it's more action/adventure in genre like zelda would be. But the cutesy anime type, at least to me, don't feel like the usual stuff. It was more, I dunno....twisted like?I saw that at Futureshop and they want $59.99. Is that an RPG? I thought it was more of an action/adventure game. Looks like it uses cutesy anime type characters. I should have said I am not interested in any RPGs with Japanese style anime characters. Fallout3 I will buy for the PC because it will probably have loads of mods made for it.
Most PS2 games only support 4:3, but a handful (mostly the newer games) do support widescreen.
The real issue isn't aspect ratio - it's the fact that they're 480i games that are getting blown up pretty huge. The PS3 does a surprisingly excellent job of upscaling these games - I don't know how your TV will do.OK, I guess 4:3 is ok as my screen is plenty big enough for that ratio too. What's the best RPGs to get for the PS3? No anime please and I like deep RPGs with wide open areas if possible. They have any turned based combat ones for the PS2 that are good?
They'll be here soon. =)

As for "what games", I wouldn't even know where to start. Maybe FF12, Rogue Galaxy, and Odin Sphere?
Keep telling yourself that lol!
I'll think of you PS3 fanbois while im enjoying Lost Odyssey, Mass Effect, Eternal Sonota, and Blue Dragon!
GTAIV is an RPG of sorts so at least PS3 has that. I keep seeing people say "coming from Japan". Do they even make RPGs without cutesy anime characters? I lke my RPGs to look mean and not like I am playing a game for a 6 year old. Think, The Witcher.
So you like your RPGs to look like it's designed for a middleschooler (a.k.a. the Todd McFarlane syndrome) instead? All I can imagine the Witcher and a lot of other N. American RPGs are adolescents talking about how "dark" and "badass" it is in the cafeteria.

I'm not even sure that's happening any more. Seems to have been on hold for a very long time and all we ever got was a confirmation of a Japanese release.Eternal Sonata is being ported over with extras to the PS3.
I'm in the same boat. Still, I think it'll see an American release, if only because all the translations are already done. (Then again, that didn't happen with FFX International or the FF12:IZJS release. I'm still pissed off about that.)I'm not even sure that's happening any more. Which annoys me because I didn't pick this up for the 360 because I thought I might as well get it for the PS3. Something I plan on rectifying pretty soon.
So there's different versions of Final Fantasy XIII? Do any of them play like X? I don't want a 3rd person/ FPS thing goin on.
Better question is where are RPGs for both next-gens?
There's like Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey and a few less know things
But there are dozens of them on DS/PSP getting released
and comparision to Xbox/PS2 library of RPGs is making it look ever more pathetic.
Hell I was going to buy next-gen a month ago but decided it's pointless due to lack of such games especially when ME is coming to PC.
For JRPGs it has a lot to do with the fact that the 360 is dead in Japan and the PS3 is just about flatlining there. The DS and PS2 are of course very popular in Japan which is why they get good support for this type of game.Better question is where are RPGs for both next-gens?

What's wrong with the sound? (I haven't played it yet, but I haven't seen anything mentioned in the reviews about it)You ps3 guys really dont want eternal sonata, it's complete garbage and an embarssment to play with the sound on.

No, it's not. Seriously, have you even played the game? It has a third-person camera! The RPG portions of it are huge!Indeed. It seems like the majority of games coming out are FPS. Even then, Mass Effect is FPS gameplay with RPG elements.
