wheres the 970?

Supposedly Q3 2010...perhaps sooner now that AMD has released their 6 core CPU????

Doubtful. AMD's 6 core / 6 thread cpu is in competition with the 4 core / 8 threaded i7 920 to i7 940. And if we trust the leaked benchmarks its not even going to give i7 940 much competition.

Hmm, with that price not sure how many more will jump in on the second fastest x86 processor you can buy in 2010..

Intel has also introduced the cheap and cheerful Pentium E5500, a 2.8GHz Wolfdale dual-core with an 800MHz. It's already available for around €70. There's also the Pentium E6700, a 3.2GHz Wolfdale with an 1066MHz FSB. It should cost around the €80 mark once it hits retail, probably by the end of the month.

Weren't these out like...3 years ago?

Nevermind.. naming scheme.

If its just $100 cheaper than the 980x thats just bullshit, because I was expecting half the price. WTF
