According to some sites, a revised 2900XT with 1gb of DDR4 ram was coming out today.

Still no sign of it.
 
I was kind of hoping for benchmarks. But, I guess that's kind of pointless now. First, because I forgot that those were going to be in limited quantities anyway. (I suppose I shouldn't forget those kinds of details if I want to trade stocks lol.) In any case, there wasn't much of a reaction to the news that card is out so I'm out of the stock. Even if it goes up at this point, I don't care. AMD may come out with an earnings warning pretty soon. I wonder how large the losses will be this time. lol K10 coming out though between one and three months.

This is odd. Their mid-range can't beat the Nvidia mid-range, their top of the line are too expensive for their performance and now a real probable top performer is a limited quantity card.

According to them, the 1gb version will cost $100 more than the 512 version. $599.95 vs $499.95 CAD.
 
Oh my...thats quite a difference, especially considering the already low performance / price ratio for the 512mb version...
 
It was determined by AMD that the clocks for the 1gb model would be pushing the thermal capacity of the card, so amd/ati aren't making there own cards, but they told there AIBs that they can do what they want on this one.

Its not canceled per se, but its not an official part anymore, its AIB parters deciding what GDDR4 they want to use, what clock they want to set it at,and how high they want to overclock the core.
