So, I just got done building my external HDD and got it connected via USB 2.0, formatted NTFS style, and did not assign a drive letter.

My reasoning behind not assigning a drive letter is that I was under the impression that if I wanted to say, assign it letter G: here, and take it to a buddies to transfer some good ole legal stuff, and he already has a letter G: drive, I'd be screwed right? Or am I wrong?!?!

As of right now, I cannot see the drive in My Computer, but I can see it in Admin Tools>Disk Management.

How do I get it just so I can turn it on, it shows up, I do my thing and turn it back off? THanks!!!

Ugh, I've tried everything and can't seem to figure this out...

I deleted the partition, just to see if doing it differently would matter, but it didn't.

I don't know what to do...Help:confused::confused:

Edit:
I've Assigned it a drive letter but I want it to show up in the Devices With Removable Storage area in My Computer, not under Hard Disk Drives...How?

You're wrong about the drive letter thing.

Also, hard drives aren't "removable storage" - not even removable ones. It's just some odd naming quirk in Windows.
