Where do I get a decent quality 30' cable as well as what should I expect to pay for this length? Thanx!

This place has cheaper prices on some shorter lengths (up to 12 feet), but the 30 footer is a bit steep at $199.

You might try looking for a 30 foot DVI-DVI cable and then getting an adapter for DVI-HDMI.

Here is a site that's claiming these are shielded:

Blue Jeans Cable is usually well regarded cable.

Another site: Use this link to get 20% off as an Audioholics Reader:
30 ft HDMI to DVI shows up as 135.99 after discount:

the dvigear link doesn't seem to work but nevertheless it's quite expensive going to 30'.

Sorry, checked it again but the link works for me.
Try going to www.dvigear.com and then to their cables section.

A couple more places but you're still looking at around 130 to 150 for 30 ft.

I agree with those who posted above.

For long distances and if you’re willing to part with an arm and half your leg you will get a high quality cable that works well.

However, if you feel lucky you may want to research pccables.com or respectable sellers at eBay. :)

Yea DVI is not the same as VGA where long cable lengths are concerned. You cannot pick up any ole 30' dvi cable and expect it to work well. It has to be high end actually, otherwise you'll be dealing with sparklies and pretty colors.

I second the bluejeanscable recommendation due to their overwhelming amount of satisfied customers.

I've got my TV and then there's my couch and then there's my PC setup.
avdeals is much more expensive and have less selection than bluejeans.
I'll probably stay with my YPbPr connection for now but just can't get the picture to size properly and centered.

wow... nice prices... wonder if anyone else here tried them and their quality... get what i pay for? lol...

I'm familiar with monoprice and you have to be careful with their products. They typically carry a "cheap" line and a "decent" line. Its a risk in other words.

You really can't go cheap on a 30' dvi/hdmi cable.

Monoprice's 25' 24awg cable might, may, may not cut it, but the 50' length is really pushing it imho.

Well I was going with 30' becoz I tot my distance was 25' but now I remeasured it's only a 18' distance so a 25' cable would fit perfectly...
$107 at bluejeans
$30 at monoprice...
hmm... decisions decisions...

now you are finding out precisely why I rearranged my entire basement instead of running super long cables.

Try this: Audio General

25' for $75.00. Probably the best grade DVI cable you can buy; "super low attenuation high bandwidth"

These cables are capable of passing 1080P at 60FPS.......Good times...
:)

Unfortunately this is the best configuration that would suit my apartment granted my limited space.
Bettercables seems to be a whole lot more expensive at $209.95 so I'll probably use my composite for now then jump on bluejeans...
