Where to get metal?

I've checked Mcmasters and the prices are decent and all, but I'd like suggestions for places to get it locally. My local HomeDepot never has any stock of sheet metal... Does Lowes carry any? I'm in the Rockland NY area btw in case anyone knows any place.

It's really hard for most of us to figure it out for you because we're not where you're from. BUT, if you look in your yellow pages under "metals" you should see many different suppliers for sheet metal.

Here's the ones I could find but I don't know jack about NY so I couldn't tell you if they're close or not.

McMaster is generally considered to be overpriced for metals, check out:

Home Depot or Lowes does not have sheet metal...

but I did find plenty of sheet metal, square brackets, and other such materials at Ace Hardware.

I went to Lowes, a bit further than HD for me, but they had plenty of sheet aluminum and steel. They had a nice large 24"x36" brushed aluminum sheet for 40 bux. Its a bit thin though at .025" thick but It will do.
