so I took out my E6600 and put in a Q6600..BIOS shows a quad but task manager only sees a dual?

is there a fix for this, or do I need to reinstall...

Im on an EVGA 680i with the p30 BIOS.

I believe windows need to recognize this. You can open the device manager in safe mode and delete under the Computer tree : ACPI x86-based PC then reboot. It will then redetect and reinstall before it will recognize the extra 2 cores.
 
I figured it out..I had to go into the BIOS and "enable"'the other 2 cores.....Weird....
