where do you learn about intel processors?

just a general question about where i can find information about the latest processors and chipsets for intel mobos.

any good websites or guides?

Use the processors link at the top and select either Processors or Chipsets. All the information is organized very well. You can get all summary of features (first tab) and technical information (second tab) about chipsets and CPUs, and even compare between different models.

wouldn't the website be biased though? like they are trying to sell their processors and mbs?

It's one sided since it's only about Intel products of course, but you only asked for information about Intel processors and chipsets.

But really, the information is factual and complete. It doesn't pretend to compare. For example, you'll find out about
sockets
cache and FSB speeds
different CPUs each chipset supports
basic and deeper technical information about the products
etc

What you won't get is subjective comparisons. IMO, you should look at both intel's and amd's/nvidia's sites for the information (ATI has virtually no even mildly technical information on their site for chipsets). It's much of the same stuff you see in reviews during a chipset launch, the technical parts but not the hype. :p

Schmuckety has it right, Tom's is likely the fairest and most-respected hardware review/technology site out there. Anandtech does good reviews, but the owner has been biased towards Intel since the 8086 came out. Sharkyextreme is a less-known site I personally like (along with scores of others). Like Tom's, they also don't take unfair sides in the Intel/AMD or the Nvidia/ATI battles.

Anand Lal Shimpi has been biased towards Intel since 1978? I find that not very believable given his age.

I just picked the oldest Intel I could think of to make my point. I've never considered that his site gives AMD a fair shake.

What was he, like 12 when he started his website? lol What is he now? Mid-20's?

(to correct another part of my prior post; I suppose with the hits Sharkyextreme claims, they don't qualify as "less-known" anymore)

IIRC 14. Let's see that would have been I think the first time I remember his page was 98....maybe 97. So........crap he is younger than me by years:eek:
