ADOSYSTEMS claims to have it , but their reseller rating would preclude me from ever giving them my credit card number.
edit: actually they say it's a preorder too, never mind!

The Other Places that I found claiming to sell it on pricewatch are selling preorders for the EVGA model.

Nvidia needs to pull their thumb out of their ass and start shipping these cards in some sort of volume so we can get a little competition in the high-end marketplace. Hopefully the 6800GT doesn't magically never show up.

I work at Best Buy and the BFG 6800U currently has an instock date of 8-15, last week it was 8-7 and the week before that 7-31. You might as well call it the 6800 Ultra of Doom 3.

ID is kinda pissed at ATi now, since they leaked the alpha. Everything is optimized for NV.

Actually if you ready the .plans, Carmack is now redoing the engine to include most of the current technology as well as removing those special rendering paths. There is a good thread on this at beyond3d.

That's becuase the nvidia cards run well enough now that they don't need optomized paths.

This is really good for everyone since it'll make benching D3 that much easier, closer to apples and apples.
