So ive been out of the loop for quite a while..as i've been stuck on my laptop busy with school..I'm just curious how well my desktop is holding up against the top of the line stuff these days. Heres what it is.

750 Silverstone PSU
EVGA 680i mobo
e6600 c2d OC'd on a DD block
BFG 8800gtxwce
2gb Geil 6400

I never finished my loop with another 2x120 rad and plan on picking up a DD waterbox or mountain mod's case soon and was possibly thinking of throwing in another 8800gtxwce if i could find one..or are they getting their butt's kicked now?
Thanks!

What is your "e6600 c2d OC'd on a DD block" clocked to?
Is your GTX clocked?
Which OS are you using?
What res and quality settings do you use/prefer?
Do you want to play Crysis? :)

Any way that you look at it, you have an 8800GTX and an overclocked E6600 (if you are anything normal, it will be running at at least 3GHZ :D) so it is still a pretty high end machine.

I wouldn't call it high end. You can get them for 130-140 now. With the 9800s, gx260s/280s, and the radeon 4850s / 4870s / 4780x2s - the 8800s are really out classed now.

A second 8800 would be a waste. You find more value in a newer card.

Yeah, no doubt, it will be outclassed, but, comparing it to my rig, for example, it is high end.

It was a highend system a year ago heck even 6 months. Now its a mid ranged system. As now the friggin q6600 can be had for dirt cheap and the best GPUs are cheaper than ever.

Midrange compared to what would be purchased if someone was building a new computer at this point in time.

Compared to all "gaming" rigs out there I would say it still is pretty high-end.

the 6600 is only at 2.7 now. I just remember when looking in cleaning it its only on air atm, the block is in the loop but i have another 2x120 rad i have yet to throw in to be able to handle that too. So i only have it up to 2.7 due to the summer etc etc. I suppose ill just leave it as is for now..maybe start researching the newer cards if they are worht the jump or not.
