Where can I find a Pentium D 9xx 800MHz Dual-Core processor? Thats comes with a heatsink/fan and with thermal grease.



edit: does all processor come with thermal grease?

retail "boxed" CPUs come with a heatsink that has some TIM on it. OEM CPUs come with just the chip itself.

But for that price, it'd be better to get an E2xxx or even an E4xxx and a cheap P35 motherboard. You'd end up with a much better performing system that's a LOT cooler and maybe even shave a few bucks off.

edit: These processors do come with thermal paste pre-applied to the heatsink, but there's no extra.

It's a lot cheaper if you buy the CPU and heatsink separately, but you don't get the 3 year warranty.

If you're going to overclock, a lower speed one like the 915 above is fine.

And you can buy a stock Intel Pentium D heatsink or better for around $20-$25 shipped. Newegg has a big selection of 3rd party coolers.
