Isnt it weird how 7-8 months ago could buy a sandforce drive 120gb drive for about $200... and now, well, you can buy a 120gb sandforce drive for about $200?

Where are all the people that would rush into any ssd thread and declare "dont worry, right around the corner youre going to see prices cut in half"

im not bitter btw, i ignored these people and bought a corsair force 120gb for $180 in december. Im just warning people that a lot of those who claim to have some insider knowledge are just following rumors that gain a lot of traction for no reason. Its like those who say "just wait for black friday.. HUGE PRICE DROPS ON X PRODUCT" or "OLED tvs right around the corner..." for literally the past 7 years. A lot of technology in pc hardware is not increasing that fast, the old adage that 6 months down the road whatever you have is obsolete is bullshit nowadays. Some tech is ridiculous, such as the hd4890 which was relevant about 18-24 months after it was launched (as in you could buy it for $200 and 2 years later could pretty much buy the same performance but in a smaller more efficient package for the same price)

Plan your upgrades when you actually want better performance, unless you literally have the release date in hand of a new product then theres no use in waiting for whats right around the corner.
