When I first came to the swamp, they were harassing me along the paths.

Now that I broke down and bought the book for 500 orens so I could complete the quest, I can't find any to kill.

I want to complete this before moving on the main story.
 
didn't clarify the game.... but you can do the quest with the old cannibal man to find a ton or you can go back toward the elf encampment in the northeast and find a ton.
 
I figured if you know the name, you know the game. :p

Gramps doesn't have any new dialog. There are none as I said in the usual places I found them before. I killed the ones outside the squirrel camp, now there are none.

I am getting tired of running around day and night not finding anything. I may give up on this. I wish you could go back to the cave outside the city walls since I don't think I killed them all there.
 
They only spawn at night, so meditate until midnight then hunt for them.
 
It's funny.
Everywhere I post this I specifically say day AND NIGHT and always get people telling me to look at night.
 
There isn't any other trick to it than to wander the swamp at night. That's all there is to it. Someone already told you about the Gramps way to get them to spawn. If you are looking for them at anytime in the day, you are wasting your time.
 
As I said, the Gramps way is not an option for me.

It seems this game is set up that once you kill a group of monsters set up for quests, they become less available to you until you move to a new chapter, then maybe they have a new group in the area (cemetary for example once you reach the Trade Quarter).
