When will we see affordable oled pc monitors

As of right now, there's almost zero availability. What is available is very expensive. At this point it's too soon to tell. We could either see an explosion in OLED monitors after they start making their way to the mainstream HDTV market, or we could see a Plasma-like adoption rate where it's effectively zero.

OLED production is ramping up as we speak, with major factories coming online in 2017 and 2018. So I'm optimisitic we'll see them at some point.

Rather than any specific size, I'm more interested in seeing OLEDs with Freesync and/or ULMB. I feel that we still won't see those for years, considering Dell's OLED monitor, which will basically be the first OLED PC monitor available to the mass market, has been delayed until later this year. And it's $5,000. Given that information, it's hard to be optimistic about a freesync OLED for under $1k in 2018. Maybe 2019 though.

By the way, I check this site weekly, great for info on OLED's progress: OLED Info | The OLED Experts

OLEDs require a lot of processing to get the colours correct.
This adds lag.

Lag isnt a problem for TV or movies.
It is for gaming.
Ce La Vie.

They need to use much faster processors and/or develop new OLEDs that have a more linear response.

If anything to go by TV are still in the premium range and that has been going on for several years for it to come to monitors would they drop the price for early adopters, unlikely that means that after introduction it would still take many years for it to come down in price.
