When will we see 512mb cards?

you will see 512mb 5200 and 9200SE like cards before you see a 6800/x800 512mb card, IMHO

I could see that happening, those cards use cheap RAM, and the mainstream is won by big numbers.

Just curious if its gona be this year, or next.

Next. Given the shortage of 256mb cards, how anxious do you think they are to try and find 512 mb GDDR3 for each card? Mmmm yea...

/agreed
I would say best case scenario would be end of this year, but then again at the rate this current generation of products are coming. We will have the next gen cards hitting the market, if they are still on a six month product cycle, this one will be up before too long.

This was annouced today:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/IO_14924.html

NVIDIA Quadro FX 4400 ― is the undisputed performance leader of NVIDIA’s professional graphics line. The solution features 512MB of G-DDR3 frame buffer memory, a 256-bit memory interface, 28.8GB/sec of memory bandwidth, 3-pin stereo support, and dual DVI display connectors.

Basically a beefed up 6800 for graphics work.

im just asking bc i wnat to get a new card when new ones start to come out. I dotn think its realyl worth it to get a new card right now (since i have 9800 pro).
