When will Quad processors become affordable?

When is intel going to release a line of Quad processors in the price range of the current "e" series conroes? Anytime this year or next more likely?
 
When 8 core processors are out.

No, really, imo, I think they'll be 'manageable' (e6600-6700 range) in probably about a year when the revised versions of the c2d, and the AMD counterparts come out.
 
Define "affordable"? They are going to be $500ish dollars in Q2 '07. Thats "affordable" to me. But for others thats not even close to being affordable.
