when will nvidia lower prices?

9800, 5900 are still sorta expensive to make. the gt's with 220mil trans and gddr3 will not drop more then 50$ until next prod cycle probly.
if you want a 150$ 6800gt
not til there is a die shrink thus halving resource cost of chip
gddr4
thus next spring
keep in mind pc part demand is up. with consoles graphics looking meteocre at best. pc gaming is becoming more attention thus why last round of dx9 parts hasnt dropped in price as much as they usually do.
since their wont be a dx10 or wgf 1.0 next year either the dx9 cards will stay quite pricey since they wont be "outdated" like dx7,8, cards happened

Demand is high for top end products.
I just ordered everything for my new system, but guess what I don't have yet?
The FX53, Asus AV8, and the 6800Ultra. You'd think with the price being so high, they would have some available, but nope, sold out. And yes, I know Ebay has them, but I want to buy from Newegg.

The problem isnt Nvidia. Its the vendors, still charging MSRP or above.
Its simple supply & demand. Demand is high and supply is low, and enough people are still willing to pay more, they will keep charging higher prices. When their sales slow down and they stop selling everything as fast as they can get it in to inventory, then the prices will come down.
Look at the 6800 vanilla's you can find them for as low as $250 when their MSRP is $299. (b/c there's plenty of those in stock everywhere, and they're not selling as fast) Thats the normal trend, for things to sell under their MSRP. However, with the 6800GT's and 6800 Ultra's those are selling like hotcakes. They cant keep them in stock (ultras) and the GT's are selling very fast. So why lower prices.
