When will NEC LCD2690 be available?

Does anyone have definitive information? Don't know if I can hang on past the end of the month!
 
Product arrives next week. They will be shipping the first week of february. You should be able to place an order for one now though.
 
I haven't been able to find any places online that are selling this monitor. Any suggestions? Thanks.
 
well, I just placed my order with CDW. They haven't received any yet from NEC but supposedly they've only got one order to fill ahead of mine.

CDW placed an order for one unit on 1/25 that is shipping to them today. I will let you know when they place the other order. When did you place your order?
 
Hmm, do you handle/see/whatever any orders for the Canadian side, such as from Ingram or Synnex?
 
while we are all looking to pick one up, has anyone seen a good review on the monitor? i would love to hear what a few more think before droping that much money on it.

I placed my order on January 29. That's good news about the other one. Yes, I'd be very appreciative if you can let me know if and when NEC ships out another one to CDW, that way I can get ready for it, Thanks!

Yes, saw Synnex's status (actually shows 3 on my screen - 1 to BC) however I'm a bit concerned about ordering through them since their ETA is 12/31/09 (basically unknown). The last time I ordered a special order but supposedly readily available monitor from them it never came in (Samsung 244T), and I waited nearly 5 months for that thing - good thing it wasn't for a customer! :)
 
It should not be an issue since we have stock right now. I can't forsee them not fullfilling an order for fun.

I just checked and CDW placed another order with us yesterday. The unit should ship tomorrow. It looks like we are just waiting on the rest of the units to get out of quality inspection.
 
I just ordered one from PC Connection - good price, free shipping, no tax in California. I hope you can get them a unit soon, trav!

BTW, thanks for being here and participating in this forum. It's great to have somebody from the mfg. around.
 
I originally placed my order with CDW on January 29, and yesterday got an email stating that it's still on back order. Then today, in response to me having put my name on its wish list, I got an email from Buy.com saying they're now in stock (a limited number). I called to confirm they still had them and they do - 7 of them in their warehouse. So I cancelled my CDW order and placed an order with Buy.com. They called 2 hours later to confirm my order and they said it will ship tomorrow, with 2 business day delivery. Hopefully I'll have it by Saturday.
 
Well, the lying scum at Buy.com who swore to me that they had 7 monitors in their warehouses which is why I cancelled my order with CDW have still not shipped it, and I'm getting a total run around as to when it will ship and whether they even have them in stock.

Buy.com - DON'T EVER SHOP FROM THIS HORRIBLE LYING RETAILER.

So I'm now back to square one. Any suggestions where I can get this monitor? My new computer arrived yesterday and is sitting in a box waiting for a high end screen to power. Very depressing.
 
I ordered mine from PCConnection and had it in well under a week, even with free shipping. It was my first experience with them, and it was a good one.

who is your order with now? I will get the product released Monday but I cant do it unless i know who your order is with.

I think I am in the same boat as you. I placed an order on Buy.com on Wednesday and the monitor still hasn't shipped.

I have ordered from Buy.com many times over the past serveral years and never had a problem with their customer service until now. Every time in the past when they have said the item was in stock, it has shipped within 48 hours. But right now at least, it looks like no one in their customer service department has any idea if the monitors are actually in stock or when they will ship.

Since I can't find anywhere else that has the monitor in stock, I have decided not to cancel my order. Hopefully Buy.com will start shipping the monitors soon.
 
Don't cancel your order with Buy.com. Buy.com procures through INgram Micro so I will make sure on Monday we have product shipping to Ingram for your order.
 
I'm at my whits end as to how I can get this display. First I placed an order with CDW. A week later when it was still on back order, I got an email from Buy.com stating that they were in stock. I cancelled CDW's order because the Buy.com person swore that he had the displays in stock. Here I am a week later and Buy.com still doesn't have them.

I called CDW and PC Connection today, and both of them are on back order as well, so I'm no closer to getting the display. Any suggestions where I can get one ASAP?
 
Hi Travbomb, sorry I didn't see your earlier post. I placed my order with Buy.com on February 6. I haven't cancelled it. If there's ANYTHING you can do to get it fulfilled, I'd be grateful. Thanks very much!
 
I will add my story to the saga of “those who await delivery”

I order my LCD2690 on Feb 8 from CDW, their web site said 1-3 days till shipping, OK… sounds good as every other site I check was either out of stock or backordered. Then I see the ship date has been changed to TBD, and then it will be shipped on the 15th, no wait now it is the 21st and when I contact my CDW rep to see if the latest date is solid she replies “we can only cross our fingers”. Yikes!

about helping me track my order. He was very helpful in letting me know that NEC has the product ready to ship but do to the fact CDW uses a distributor instead of dealing directly with NEC he could not give me specifics on my order.

So why does CDW not deal directly with NEC? What distributor does CDW use?

I wait patiently as my old CRT slowly dies before my eyes.

CDW generally does purchase direct. i believe they moved the direct orders over to disty thinking they would get filled faster. After further digging in my system though it looks like CDW placed an order 2/12 for 1 2690. I have inquired if this is your order and if it is i will haev it released today for you.

Can you private message me your contact at CDW's info? I will call and get their order number to us.

I still don't have any news from Mike Snizynsky (NEC Quebec Canada) my order is place and mike told me i was on the top of is list so I Would like to get a date or someting:confused: ...i'm curently renting a 2890...this LCD is getting more and more expenssive everyday!:(

Here is an update, I received an email yesterday from my CDW rep..

“None of our distributors have them in stock… We use Ingram Micro and Tech Data amongst others. The notes I see on this product show that allocations from Nec are for the consumer level.. Check with your contact to see exactly what that means. The exact comments say “NEC End User allocations through Feb”. “

I have no idea what any on this means.
