maybe the next generation of monitors will be glass cubes that dispay images in 3D

2 years ago at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Vegas a company (maybe toshiba, but i dont remember) introduced a screen that was as flat as a piece of paper and was pretty flexiable considering it was a screen. they had a dvd playing on it, and the picture quality was pretty damn good for a screen that could bend, and that was as thin as a piece of paper and just as bright as an LCD.
when those are released as monitors regular LCDs will become cheap until then, you will pay top dollar for an LCD ...

It's all somewhat relative. I remember doing some price matching to get Fry's down to $700 on a 17" NEC CRT ~8 years ago. Then I bought a 21" CRT for like $1800.
Compare that to current prices and things are definitely looking "down" in a good kind of way.
LCDs will continue to come down in price and improve in quality, I think. Maybe not as fast as you'd like to be called "cheap", but it's happening already since they were first introduced.

LCDs are getting more and more popular as time progresses so I would highly doubt that manufacturers would have any reason to start lowering their prices.
think about it. with LCDs being so popular now in days, and if you owned a company that makes LCDs, would you lower your prices?

Also I just read an article sayin that over the next yeard lcd prices will drop by 36 % and by 50% over the next 2 years. I dont know how reliable the sources were, I was just searchin stuff on lcds and ready what seemed interesting.

I could continue to make big gains on a low volume of sales, or I could slash prices, and make those same gains but with a greater volume of sales, therefore getting more of my companies lcds out in the marketplace and giving my company an edge over the competitors. In an attempt to take away my advantage other companies start slashing prices too and it becomes a price war to provide cheap lcds. As 12 & 15ms panels become standard to most people it wont matter who you buy from just who has the cheapest panel.
