When will Conroe be in Newegg?

I still trust NewEgg, they're just not my first choice anymore because I know that if I buy something at NewEgg, I'm going to have to pay a heft premium to have it shipped (I refuse to have anything remotely valuable shipped via UPS)
I hear that one on UPS. FedEX is, for the most part, everything a shipping company should be, if only it usually didn't cost so much to ship via them :(

What exactly is Newegg waiting for? I'd love to buy this from them but they don't even have a preorder up yet.....

im awaiting some conroe chips to hit their site as well....no particular reason just am.

i always put together a cart of parts on newegg and then ill shop around for better prices elsewhere and I usually dont buy from the egg anymore unless ZZF doesn't have what im looking for.

Yeah, newegg has the bes website for tech hardware IMO.

They had the x6800 and they took it down when it sold out.

The official release date of the rest of the intel core 2 duos (not x6800) was/is august 7th. Newegg doesn't do preorders so they don't have the product up... If you order it from anywhere you have to wait til at least the 7th til it ships anyway

Another thing that really really hurts their sales and I've had several people tell me this. Is, their CPU bundle is a great tool with excellent prices ... BUT ... they have the worlds worse selection of H/S Fans to pick from. And when you are dealing with a totally automated system like that, it scares people off. That has kept me from ordering SEVERAL times.

The small details like that are killing them.

I would have been all over a pre-order AMD 5000+ for the wife if their bundle game was a lot better.
Well, the CPU cooler selection doesn't really bother me (I always just go with retail) but I know a lot of people who'd prefer other options.

The free game bundle was the reason I got my last CPU/mobo combo from them. I could've gotten it a few bucks cheaper elsewhere, but they were giving away Half-Life 2 and Farcry so it saved me from having to buy them. Sadly, I don't think that will ever be topped.

I'm exactly the same. Browsing for items at ZZF and Monarch leaves a lot to be desired.

Um, no.

Newegg's shipping *USED* to own but ever since they started using UPS their shipping has gone straight to hell. ZZF almost *always* has more items with free 2nd day FedEx, *and* for a hell of a lot cheaper (I'm not joking, FedEx at NewEgg usually costs 2x-2.5x as much as at ZZF these days)

The only time I ever use NewEgg anymore is when I can't find the same item at ZZF. It's a shame that NewEgg could lose an ardent customer like myself over something so stupid.

Let's see, oh here's a funny one:

Antec Performance One P180

Newegg:
UPS 3-day - $28
UPS 2-day - $68
UPS Overnight - $73
FedEx Saver - $65
FedEx 2-day - $112
FedEx Overnight - $139

ZZF
FedEx ground - FREE
FedEx 2-DAY - $26
FedEx overnight - $47

So yeah, I would say that's ****ing bull**** and anyone who still thinks NewEgg's shipping rocks needs to have their head examined.

I won't even get started on the dangers of having anything remotely valuable shipped via UPS.

Here's how shipping went on my Last order;

MB FOXCONN 865G7MF-SH 865G 775 - Retail (Qty=1, Price=$42.99)
CPU INTEL|CD 326 2.53G 775 256K R - Retail (Qty=1, Price=$47.00)
GWC SATA TO IDE CONVERTER AD3300 - Retail (Qty=1, Price=$11.99)
MEM 256M|AMPO 3AXD2533-256M1S-R R - Retail (Qty=1, Price=$18.99)

Extended Warranty Fee: $0
Subtotal: $120.97
TAX: $0
Shipping and Handling Charge**: $8.73
Total: $129.70

A similar order at ZZF was $27shipping. After I called and complained they dropped the pirce to $16.50  I've had far more problems with ZZF, even when they were Google than with Newegg.

Newegg has been both good and bad though. Now that they go through Memphis they've been sweet as hell! 3 day ground takes two days for me. Since these parts are for someone else, I'll get to pocket shipping costs not paid as I have on about 3 or 4 thousand dollars of other others. 3 of these items are for others. I too like FedX better but for the last year or so, that margin between the two has decreased.

Wow I always just assumed that newegg was the standard when it came to buying things online... after all this debate now I'm really going to reconsider where I start buying my parts because I agree charging individual shipping for every item is a little ridiculous.

Selling a product for 30% more than other places is overpriced regardless of whether or not people bought it.

By definition, if people bought it, it cannot be called "overpriced." Learn2Economics. What you really mean is, "it was more expensive than I could afford, so I'm going to bitch and moan."

By what definition, the one in the dictionary you wrote? Nothing you said in that post made any sense. Learn2thinkbeforeyouhitthepostbutton.

QFT. I loathe UPS

The only benefit now is that they do combined shipping. It used to be that each item was a separate shipping charge, which made buying fans and such impractical. I just order before a weekend now and pray that they packed well :(

Judging by what you ordered, that's a pretty old order, back before Newegg took a backseat to ZipZoom. Back then I would have totally agreed with you, NewEgg was better. Now, however, ZipZoom is #1 in my book. While NewEgg still has a better interface and larger inventory (which is the only reason I still buy things there from time to time) ZipZoom delivers where it really counts... low prices, and cheap, quality shipping. Shipping anything valuable (especially cases!) via UPS is simply not worth the few bucks that you *might* sometimes save.

Wow, nice flame. When (if) you make it to college, you might learn that the optimal clearing price is the highest possible price-point at which the product sells out. Since the x6800, at $1300, sold out so quickly, then Newegg most likely charged TO LITTLE, not to much.

QFMFT.... Well done. For such, self proclaimed, "smart" people around here... not too many have a bead on the real world. :D

I once posted here stating that a part of the forum should require proof of a college degree to post.....was flamed to hell and back.

People around here sure hate college grads.

College is free if you try hard enough.

However, before i get flamed to hell and back again.... College does not make you smarter, all it does is help you (*hopefully) formulate and support ones own opinion with facts, and also (hopefully) provides more understanding in a particular field of study.

College is about reading, and lots of it. Its also about taking what one reads and identifying bias, or flawed logic in arguements, and then postulating these findings on paper. (If one took a writing class)

Now, I am no genius......but I did get something valuable out of a University education. People with god complexes on the internet need not apply, nor try to put me down. All it does is humor me and my friends.

/OT

Newegg hopefully will have these babys by August 7th on sale. I keep refreshing their website when i am on the rig. Maybe i should make a macro to do it!

I'm glad you memorized a definition out of a text book. It really shows how smart you are. Your point is still irrelevant as the word "overpriced" is based on an opinion and not on any set of rules regarding pricing and economics.

My last post also stands since your previous post, as I said, did not make any sense.

Also, college guy, when you're trying to make a point by putting a few words in all capital letters, you should probably spell them correctly.

My opinion stands and your point is irrelevant and poorly thought out.

Nope, that order was made on Aug 2nd, replacements for others, not for my personal use. ;) They've always combined shipping and even when they didn't all I had to do was remind them.

ZZF! I missed out on a great deal on MSI X1800XL 512MB are really an XT. I just didn't trust them at the time. I have my own ZZF bad deal! They're great unless you have to return something.

Back when they were Google I bought what as advertised as 2.7V CAS2 2-2-6 1T DDR Corsair XMS. $181 free shipping. There was other RAMs by Corsair and others for about 130 to $145 that was CAS2 3-3-6 and it wouldn't overclock as well.

I get the RAM and on my AOpen AX4C i875 the RAM was very unstable. At first the instability was blame on the mobo. After about 10 days of BS! I tried the RAM on a bud ABit IC7GMax it would only run at 3-3-6 and 2.9v. I check with Corsair for support. Their answer was to reflash the Erom-BIOS-Chip so SPD would detect the RAM as CAS2-3-3-6 I explained that I could have bought RAM at that speed for $40 less, the tech just said "so and....?" He then said you can RMA through the seller if I didn't like it. So I called them and after two days of trying, I got through. The say sure, fill out an RMA and we'll take it back. Their words; "You're responsible shipping it back and a 15% restocking fee". I said I'm sending it back because you falsely advertised it as CAS 2-2-6 and....I'm cut off here..."Our ads are subject to change and ......I cut him off and to tell him the ad still says this stuff will run at 2-2-6 when Corsair has change their own specs for this RAM. They offered to reflash the EPROM to reflect that. $27.15 plus $16.75 wasn't worth it I ended up selling the RAM for $160. After a second similar incident, I stopped shopping there.

I've only had one problem with Newegg and was even given a free shipping on a large order to make up for something I messed up on. It was an honest mistake they could have taken advantage of, me but didn't. MWav, Monarch, Xtremegear, Directron and others have all done good by me! I hope ZZF has mended their old ways.

UPS! Again, the I've gotten HDDs, Opticals and everything via UPS. I can't speak for the ones where you live and you've never had anything delivered by the folks here. 80% of the system I'm using right now was dropped off by UPS! I like FedEx better but UPS is not that bad,and this is key, HERE!
