When will Blizzard ever Make Starcraft 2?

Yeah...they will when ID makes a DOOM IV.

let the truth be told that they don't plan on another ST game.. Look it is about what 7 years now it is not going to happen unless some other company does it and Blizzard is not going to allow that.

i'm sure we'll see anothing starcraft along with another diablo someday but both will be a LOOOONG ways off ...
 
well i saw someting in pc gamer about blizzard mentioning soooomething about sc 2 but nothing remotely specific =/
 
When you beat WC3 isn't there an ingame scene at the end with Star Craft Units?
I thought this was some kind of foreshadowing that SC2 would be made on maybe a modified WC3 engine?

Yeah I don't get my blizzard doesn't make it. Do they not want to make money??? It would sell a gazillion copies if made.
 
Most likely Blizzard will make SC2, I mean why wouldn't they want more money? SC was a hit and they will definetly make a sequel. Warcraft III is still pretty new and when you look at Blizzard's RTS games they usually have a life span of 5 - 6 years and then BAM! they announce another stellar RTS and that game would most definetly be SC2. Thats just my 2 cents.
 
Roach, no offense but you may be off base a little there. SC is probably one of the most popular rts games out....and it's 7 years old! It's opensource now, so it's completely free and ppl are still playing and developing for it. Hell my friends kid plays it daily and most kids don't play older less graphically intense games. Again as usual, thats my .2

A: Although we have not made any announcements and do not have a development or release timeline, we do fully intend to revisit the world of StarCraft on PC at some point in the future.

What does this mean? Its going to come out but theres no timeline however based on how each game series is pushed out by them I'd guess preliminary work/staging has been going on for awhile and full work will begin after Ghost/WOW, Ghost is supposed to be a stop gate between SC/SC2 to bridge the games somehow in story or something or so I've heard, time will tell.
 
well considering there are a countless number of asteroids, planets and moons out in space, technically, we all live under many rocks.

I'm SURE Blizzard will eventually get around to another SC. Yet i'm also sure i will be forever till it comes out. The reason why its not as forfilling as Warcraft is because the programmers dont like the whole space theme as much. Blizzard will come out with another without a doubt because of the success of the first one.
 
It's great to see people jump on anyone that has a difference of opinion on this board.

In a vain attempt to save the thread...

Blizzard is in a bind right now. Lots of key staff have left and a extremely large project eating up a lot of resources. More than likely, there has been work on design and concepts for Starcraft 2, but beyond a skeleton crew working on possible prototypes not much is being done.

The RTS genre is in a doldrums at the moment. It'll take at least another year before it re-emerges.

Starcraft got me into gaming...it's a part of me. Starcraft 2 would be...

I'd probably throw a party for it's release date :(
 
sorry to bring back such an old thread, but it's worth it.

SC2 is finally coming yay! :cool:
 
Funny. If what Blizzard says is true, Starcraft 2 started production only a few months before this thread was created.
