When/What comes "after" 5960x?

a derivative of the broadwell server architecture. planned to support the x99 chipset. possibility of a 10 core chip. scheduled to show up after skylake-k.

Broadwell-E probably released by the end of February with IPC improvements matching regular Broadwell and maybe a minor clockspeed bump.

I'm more interested in Skylake-E.
 
Still no 6-8 core mainstream processor on the roadmap. :(

Guess I'll be holding off until Cannonlake/Union Point (Union Bay)...

Me too. Its sad having a 5 yo cpu (i7 980x) and the next "thing" isn't even on the map.

And it won't be until Intel either A) Sees the need for more CPU horsepower from applications or B) AMD comes out with a CPU/APU that actually competes with Intel.
