The card is great... but having some driver issues...

Quake 4 ultra quality.... notta
HL2/Lost Coast/CS:S/Etc.... bugs when messing with video options
Aquamark 3... bugs/crashes
FEAR......bugs when messing with video options (resolutions/AA/AF)

and some games just don't feel quit..."right"... like .2 second delays and so on. Nothing really a big problem... just small issues here and there...

I like Nvidia and ATI equally, but that said Nvidia IMO does seem to always have a better driver team. ATI gets there but takes them longer. i.e., Cats 6.1 are just now fully tweaked for the X800/850 series, etc, while X1800 is like 1/3 or 1/2 there...

Anyone know when new offical Cats for the x1800/1900 cards will be out or are expected to be released?

Are you using the drivers that came with your card? if not then you outta install them after using driver cleaner. The drivers that are supplied with the card are 6.1beta's i believe with support for the X1900 range of cards. No other Cats support them yet. Run driver cleaner and install them and your problems should dissappear.

Hopefully the new 6.2's should be out in the next week or two because i dont like running beta's. To me they feel 'dirty'.

Ultra quality in D3 and Q4 doesn't work on X1800 cards either. I have a feeling Cat6.2 won't change that, but hopefully I'm wrong! TBH I couldn't tell the difference between HQ and UQ on my old 7800GTX (apart from the framerate hit), and both games are pretty lame anyway IMO.

I'm more interested to see how much utapped potential is in the X1900's - I'm sure the new drivers will show some decent gains.

For one or other reason, Ati refuses to "leak" beta's. One WHQL a month is nice, but "leaking" beta's like Nvidia does is nicer imo.

Quake 4 - The Ultra Quality bug is a known problem, they are working on a fix, I don't know if the next driver will contain the fix or not.

HL2/Lost Coast/CS:S - That is an issue with both cards, but more so with ATI cards, after you change a video option you need to exit the game, and then restart it, it will work fine then.

Aquamark 3 - dunno

FEAR - same as HL2, after you change a video option exit the game and restart it, also make sure soft shadows is disabled, it doesn't work properly with AA.

The drivers supplied on cd are 5.13 modded to include the x1900 series. The Omega drivers based on 6.1 work with the x1900 and fix some issues I was having in games...

Where to get the omega drivers (modded 6.1) for X1900

Look at the shadows when using the flashlight. In ultra mode they are actually there. Thats the biggest difference to me.

With the Omega, it looks like they tell you to disable overclocking for the ATT to work, you might as well be using an X1800 as the X1900 card will stay at 500/500 the whole time.

Not so. Card will increase clocks when going to 3d...

I dont see it. Mine didn't. The drivers have to make it increase speed, the ATI Overdrive does it, and thats in the ccc driver or the control panel, and the control panel isn't loaded with the ATT.
