When is the EO stepping coming out

Actually, the E0s are shipping now; however, these are single-core and don't support EMT64.

The EMT64 P4s (also E0) won't ship until post-XMas (Q1 '05). These will be dual-core (Nocona 2 and Prescott 2 series), but won't support HT (dual-core and HT will remain mutually-exclusive for the P4). The current E0s are the first Nocona series and, oddly enough, replace Prescotts in LGA775, and Northwood-Cs in S478. (The Northwood is Officially Dead; no more will be manufactured.)

The Prescott 6xx series will ship in Q1 '05. They will support EM64T but they will not be dual core. Dual core Smithfield will come in 2H '05.

Also, there are 5xx series Prescotts supporting EM64T. But they are hard to find at the moment outside of pre-built systems like Dells.

Also, Nocona IS a Prescott core. Intel simply has stricter testing guidelines for Nocona.

Fry's. :p I got a SL7PR chip tonight. Only 2.8GHz though, 84W TDP. i915 motherboard + 2.8GHz chip for $199.]

Bummer, no Fry's near me. :( I ck'd Outpost.com. but didn't see any.

Did they have any faster ones, or just the 2.8?

I take it that's the same chip as: Pentium 4 520J - BX80547PG2800EJ - 2.8EJ, just the oem version, right?

The P4 550 with EM64T is already out. Dell sells those in the SC420 servers. I was really close to ordering one this morning. $650 with free shipping for:

P4 3.4GHz w/EM64T
E72xx chipset motherboard
case (of course)
1GB dual channel DDR2-533
80GB SATA hard drive
keyboard
mouse
48x CD-ROM
no OS
http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&cs=04&kc=6W300&l=en&oc=sc420&s=bsd

Those EM64T 550s are really nice because it's the 84W TDP versions.

Have you tried overclocking that E0 yet? I have a D0 550 and it's a like an oven set on broil, especially with any kind of overclock.

I'm probably not going to keep it. :( I have a really good deal on an AGP card, so I'll probably go S478 or A64.

Anyone have any idea if the 2.8 lga775 chips on newegg are the E0 stepping or not?
