I was thinking of building my computer when the new price cuts came out and buy a P35 board, then I got wind of this chipset coming out that is tailor made for the enthusiasts. Does anyone have an ETA as to when it is coming out?

Rumors place the release in september 07. I'm also waiting for this one, especially the DX38BT Bone Trail motherboard :)

Actually I thought that was the latest it would come out. I think the current rumor is it's being released around the big price cut (July 22nd) and the release of the new 6x50 processors.

wouldn't it be smarter to release before wolfsdale//yorksfield? idk. We'll see I guess :)

You are correct Moofasa as far as rumors go :) Here's a copy/paste from one of my posts in a different thread:

Well at Computex (June 5), most board makers said they'd release their new X38 motherboards within 90 days. Doing a search at intel.com for X38 brings up the following result:

"Intel Corporation Executive Vice President Sean Maloney unveiled the new Intel® 3 Series Chipset family along with several other technology plans that surround the company's popular Intel® Core™2 Duo processor and Intel® quad-core processor for home and business PC users.

The Intel G35 Express Chipset and the advanced Intel® X38 Express Chipset with dual graphics support will ship within 90 days."

So that puts us at September 5 at the latest. However, the latest rumors are that the X38 will be released to coincide with the July 22 price cuts or shortly thereafter. On Dan's review of the Asus P5K3 Deluxe dated June 27, Kyle states: "Given that DDR3 is going to be tremendously expensive, likely for the rest of the year, and it does not yield tangible performance increases, it seems safe to say that DDR2 and DDR2 motherboards are still a very viable option for your build. If you can wait, the X38 chipset that will be out in a month or so and would be a better DDR3 option." MSI had an X38 based motherboard on display with both DDR2 and DDR3 available, and Asus, Gigabyte, and DFI will all have DDR2 based X38 motherboards.
