When does 9800 Pro become bottlenecked?

I'm currently using a 9800 Pro 256MB card on an AthlonXP 3200+ CPU with 1gig PC3200 RAM, at what point is the 9800 bottlenecked by the CPU? Is my current CPU fast enough to push this card to its limits? I only game at 1024 X 768 res.

your cpu is plenty fast for that card

I would say when you get down into the durons and ~1.8ghz P4's, a 9800pro is bottlenecked.

If you are running the games at 1024x768 with no AA and AF and its an older game I would say you would become CPU limited, but being limited is inevitable...

So for the most part I would say you are fine, and for a lot of older games you are not pushing your video card very far, unless you are really scaling up the AA and AF

Yes, I play at 1042x 768 with everything set to MAX or highest setting, I'm thinking if I need to upgrade to an Athlon64 and better video card or not.

I have a XP3200 and a Geforce 6800GT and its almost as fast as the AMD64bit 3000, practicly equil anyways no real need for a better processor unless you want to get a new system with better parts.

I have a 9800 pro and am able to run just about every game at 1280x1024 with medium-high settings (usually no AA and low AF). Doom 3 has to run at 1024x768. BTW, I have virtually the same processor as you.
