whats wrong with my mouse?

Logitech MX300, when i pick it up the cursor goes all over the place. and then every few minutes it will cease to work at all and i have to unplug it and replug it to get it to work.... anyway dunno whats wrong with it or if theres anything i can do, but if not ill be sending it back to Logitech on monday (5 year warranty)

anyway, currently plugging in an old serial mouse which is the only extra mouse i have....
 
oh man i know what did it..... when i came home today, right when i touched the mouse i felt a strong shock.... (like every once in awhile when you touch a light switch or something)

that must have killed it.... anyway damn.... will probably have a new one before the end of the week though..... of course for some reason windows wont let me raise the sensitivity on this serial mouse, so im stuck with a pointer moving sooooo slowly that i have to pick up the mouse 3 times just to get to the corner to close a window
