Whats wrong with my LCD?

Sorry i didnt rotate the photo, but you get the idea what is happening.
This is the dell 2405 fpw... bought when it was first released :)

I just want to know if its something i can fix, or is it time to upgrade (hopefully not)
 
Are you positive its the monitor and not the video card at fault? I'd suggest that you test both, and as well as trying each connection type(DVI, vga, etc.) and swapping calbes just to rule out some possibilities first and a possible cheap fix.
 
Yep, im sure it is the monitor. I unplugged the dvi cable, and the color bands are still there...

Yep. This is actually my secondary monitor. When i swap the monitors and cables going from my video card, this monitor is still messed up. And the other monitor will be fine.
 
it looks fucked... try resetting factory defaults menu>last option>last option (should reset all) it looks like its dieing, if this dose not work, the only thing left to do would be to try can crack it open and look for loose connections.. but i doubt you'll find any thing.

Yah, im pretty sure its fucked. Just checking if there was any last hope. Damn, there goes another $500...
 
You got it from Dell? It should have a standard 3 yr warranty.

Time to be a pawn star and raise some money.
