I know this isn't really hardware, more like peripherals, but I couldn't find a different forum that better suited the topic. Well I've had the HP multimedia keyboard forever, but one day my little brother decided to be the dumb kid he is and spilled a whole can of coke on it. This one was the older style plug, not quite sure what it's called, the one with the prongs...
Anyways, I got the exact same keyboard, but this time with a USB connector. The problem is that combinations of buttons are limited now. For example, when I'm playing counter-strike:
I'm strafing right (d key) and going forward (w key).
Now when I try to hit shift or control or tab on the LEFT side of the keyboard, nothing happens. Another scenario would be me going forward and holding shift to walk. When these two are pushed down, the 'd' key has no effect until I let go of shift.
It's really strange and really annoying, and I'm not quite sure how to fix it, or if it can even be fixed. I've tried a converter to go from USB to the analog style plug thing, but like I had guessed, no effect - the computer didn't even recognize there was a keyboard installed.
Drivers installed for the keyboard are currently:
HID Keyboard Device (and it's listed twice for some reason).
Can anyone help me out? Thanks so much!
