I've been trying to get my Far Cry looking as good as most of yours, but for some reason my water looks like hell... I'm putting all of the settings on very high and still looks like this:
BTW, I'm using the 61.77 drivers.

Any thoughts?

I was just about to say - "You need to put the water on Ultra...".

Have you overclocked? Reinstall the game/drivers - or it could be a damaged card.

If you've OCed set back to stock/original speeds.

I'm sorry you're having this problem...it does look funny tho :D

The card is out of the box stock.

install the 1.1 patch and set the water to ultra high in game

I forgot to mention that its only the demo that I have. Can I still install the patch for that?

Try installing the original Nvidia drivers you got with the card. Reinstall everything - the game, the Nvidia drivers etc etc

Failing that it could be a damaged card which you might have to send back. I've heard it could even be a motherboard issue - it could be *anything*...

Do you have an older card/a friend's which you can test with Far Cry? You'll have your answer then...

edit: It's the demo??? You might even have your answer there...try the retail version/a friend's copy of farcry...

without the 1.1 patch Far Cry thinks the 6800 line of cards are Dz7 cards

try redownloading and reinstalling the game....and even then...its most likely your power supply...and buy that damn game...its worth it...

I would love to buy the game, its just that I can't stand single player. I'm a counter striker, just thought I'd see what my card could do w/ the FarCry demo.

dude, the demo does not do it justice and the AI is very good so your opponents are far superior to any CS noobie you encounter.

Well, the FarCry demo doesn't detect the 6800 right, so you can't fix the issue unfortunately.

You need to buy the game and install the 1.1/1.2 patch.

yea, i had the same problem when i downloaded the farcry demo. I also get black textures under enemies etc...but I don't think its my rig cuz every other demo I've played on or game i.e. painkiller, ut2k4, maxpayne 2, q3a etc all look AMAZING. Methinks others are right and you need to put a 1.1 patch to get it working. I have the same vid card and no O/Cing....try some other demos out and see what happens...
