I just received some new fans from xoxide.com. They arrived in a box with no packing materials, just the fans loosely thrown in. Two of the fans' wires became a mess in transit, took me a while to split them apart.

I haven't been able to test them yet. They are still thawing after being on my porch in 20 degree weather all day. If the fans work I'll be ok with the deal since the fans were cheap but I was charged $8.21 for shipping so I know they made a profit from that. I would have liked some craft paper at least.

Never dealt with them, but call them and talk to a manager. Tell them these are for a customers build and you can not take chances on the questionable quality due to the packaging. If you need to, restage the shipping and snap a picture. You will likely get something for free. Ask for another set of fans in good packaging. They are likely to just ship them to you to get rid of you.

I've bought something form them once before. It's been a while though. If I were you I'd be on the phone with them tomorrow letting them know about their poor packing job.
you paid to have it packed and shipped to you. For 2 fans that shipping price is a tad high. ESPECIALLY because they forgot the packing.

/rant, because I've been there myself.

Xoxide used to have really good customer service, they went belly up a few months back and the name/site was bought by another company. It's possible policies have shifted with the ownership. Regardless, complaining is an easy place to start in terms of setting things right.

If fans are loosely inside box and can fly around it when box is moved around that's definitely potential bearing damage source.

Haven't had that hot weather since first half of December...

no implied cursing in thread titles please
