To make a long story short, MCE is retarded and doesn't really work on multiple displays like you'd think. Oh, you can use multiple monitors, just not at the same time .

I'm looking to build a simple (single tuner, no HD) tiny MCE system to sit on/under/around my desk since my main rig is already hogging most of the space. I want the smallest system that still allows me to use relatively standard parts. My only planned pci card is a half height tuner.

Originally, I want to build something to fit on my unused keyboard tray, but I don't think 2.5" is enough to work with and I'm less than impressed with mini itx offerings. So there you have it - what's the smallest micro atx case available? (Low profile preferable to cube shape)

I have used dual monitors in Windows XP MCE.

Yeah...me too. However, if you use the MCE functions, you are locked into that monitor. You can't watch a dvd or recording on one screen and browse the net on the other. This eliminated about 95% of what I'd use it for. If you have an NVIDIA GPU, there is a semi-functional workaround, but it's asinine.

You might consider getting one of those sleek HP Small Form Factor PCs. They're tiny, even if they're proprietary. If you're bound to build your own, newegg has quite a selection.

I would say your best option for the case would be the Silverstone SG-01. It is quite small in comparison to a Micro Fly... But if you can, go Shuttle. My Shuttle is so much smaller than my Micro Fly, it is hard to believe that I used to consider the MF small...
