With the bigger proteins what is now the minimum CPU to beat the fold ?
I've some 1800's and up that I could use to fold and heat the house this winter, but if they get assigned proteins they will not finish in time it's useless.

Don't worry, those boxens can fold fine. The real minimum would be a P3-500 and I have a P3-1000 meeting deadlines 100% of the time.

The slowest CPU then wont be able finish a CPU client in time is in the sub 500 Mhz range.

I think the slowest vid card for the GPU client is in the X1600 range.

The slowest CPU for the SMP client varies from ~1.6 Ghz for a C2D, ~2.0 Ghz for an X2 and ~2.6 Ghz for a P4. Much slower than these speed and you'll make some deadlines and not others.

Luck .......... :D

Thanks guys,
Now it's time to build a new electric heater.

So, my 2.8 NW ought to make the SMP deadline even at stock speed. Interesting; is that with HT or without HT enabled?

I don't think it's with a P4 single core but with a P4 D.

That would explain it. I thought it was a little optimistic. I didn't think any single core CPUs can process a SMP WU in time.
